Micro-hole Drilling

To address the growing trend in part miniaturization and the higher tolerance it requires, Current EDM has developed the SF02 micro-hole generator. The SF02 is installed or retrofit to standard Current EDM machines enabling them to drill with electrodes as small as 0.001 inch diameter.  When coupled with our automatic electrode changer this system will provide long periods of unattended production. Controller Technology
 

The Siemens 840D and 840Di are industry-standard CNC controllers with powerful programming tools and drilling technology developed for complex, multi-axis applications. Features include:
• Compatibility with standard G and M Code formats and programs generated from complex solid models. Virtually unlimited program size.
 • 1,000 programmable power settings. Precisely controlled drilling, with on-the-fly power setting changing.
• Multiple depth control cycles enable break-through detection into small cavities.
 • Fully integrated referencing cycles, electrode dressing and automatic electrode and guide changing.
 • Automatic probing and program compensation to compensate for part variation. Machine motion and automation optimized to reduce cycle time.
